At Northgate, we see education as a continual process, which does not stop at the end of the school day.
Home learning reinforces work that children have done at school and so we expect our pupils to undertake out of school assignments, as set by the class teacher, such as learning tables and spellings, book studies, and topic work. Home learning is sent home through E-schools in either class or year groups. This could include documents and web links.
Parental encouragement in work sent home is essential for children's overall progress and we encourage you to use the Home Learning book as a tool for communication with the school regarding home learning matters. Visiting the Library and sharing books with your child is also a very important part of home learning.
